Countdown To 2013: LEGION

Brothers, I now have a LEGION...of Body Blanks.

Pictured in this article are about 300 perfect Master Castings, ranging in size from 30MM to 9MM, measured  from the base to the crown. I also have another 190 male and female Body Blank Parts, which I have not shown because there is nothing to see yet, but little piles of Bodies, Heads, and limbs.

To my Brothers out there who have wondered if I would ever really get all of the models done that I have talked about: the answer is yes. This was $390 well spent.

All I have to do now is play Dress-up-Baby-Dolls with some serious moxie

And here we are a week from October...Oh how sweet it is! Toxic Dead? YES!

"With just a touch of my burning hand,
I'm gonna live my life to to destroy your world!
Prime directive, exterminate, The whole fuckin' race!

All I wanted to say, And all I gotta do.
Who'd I do this for, Hey, me or you? "

Danzig

Thanks to Iron Wind Metals; to Mike Noe for keeping the money right for my budget, and to Stu for doing such a good job on the Molding and Master Casting!

2013 is going to be my year.

NEW BLOOD

I have enlisted the talents of two very skilled young artist to help me with The TOMORROW  BLACK Production. I have had The World of TOMORROW BLACK in my life for about 15 years, and now that I have started to work on it in earnest, in my young 40's...lol...I have come to realize that if I am going to make my "Tolkien sized universe" successfully, I need some help. It was a matter of pride really, and I have swallowed mine. TOMORROW BLACK is a huge undertaking for one man, thus I have hired a Digital Sculptor and Digital/Traditional Artist to help me.

I will still be doing all of the detailed sculpting of course, but I am very slow, to speed up the process, I have decided to get some basic Body Blanks done. Here is a little peek at one of the Digitally Sculpted Males.

The new full color artwork of TOMORROW BLACK will be drawn in rough by me, then fully realized by my wonderfully talented new Digital/Traditional Painter. These new paintings  will be done later in the year, the piece featured here is a sample only, it is not a part of The TOMORROW BLACK Art that I will produce in 2013.

Now back to sculpting these Murghaste Warriors...

MONTHLY PROGRESS 2012

I have started the MONTHLY PROGRESS 2012 Page , let's see what happens...
I am really going to focus more on work this year. I had a goal of posting 13 Articles each month for the first year, and managed to pull it off...but there was less content than I would of liked.
This year WAR ART will contain Less Filler...and More Killer!

If it is a little quiet here it is because I am actually working, and not pissing around on the internet.

I have better things to do Brothers.

TOMORROW BLACK Product Overview

I am opening BATTLE MINIATURES EMPORIUM this week, and the first miniatures range I am releasing is TOMORROW BLACK. This product range is going to be a comprehensive world of Figures, Vehicles, and Terrain, based on my old TOMORROW'S PLAYGROUND RPG game, and my new TOMORROW BLACK Novels.

I am starting The TOMORROW BLACK Range with three packs and one single.

Abominations Of Dark Science Collection 1 begins a series, a sampler pack if you will, of The Evil Monsters encountered in all regions and climates in The New World.

I am producing the Abomination Collections as a core starter for TOMORROW BLACK, and to offer hobbyist the opportunity to add some unique variety to their general Science Fiction and Horror gaming. I feel that these collections are equally useful to those of us who want to include Random Monster Encounters in our RPG Adventures, and for Wargamers who enjoy the extra detail and humor afforded by the use of Battlefield Event Charts which include Surprise Attacks by a variety of local hostiles.

All Abomination Collections will be comprised of six models including at least one Large, Medium (human sized), and Small creature, for the sake of esthetics and variety of use. I am offering these collections for the reasonable price of $9.60 each. Abominations Of Dark Science Collection 2 will likely include the first Scizz and Whurg models, as well as four models I have not yet shared with you.

I am selling The Death Digger as the first of my Large Single Monsters, and a pack of three Rattle Wings, for $3.90 each. Both of these products are also located in The Abominations Of Dark Science Emporium.

Beast Of The Waste begins with The Murg Flies, which are the first of my Murghaste figures and are also a part of another Faction, that I am not ready to share with you fine people at this time.
The Murg Flies pack is comprised of 9 randomly assorted figures, including at least one or more of each breed, as well as six detailed bases chosen from the three styles. I am offering these collections for the very reasonable price of $3.60 each, because some of you may want a lot of them after-all, and they are so lovably tiny.

Well gang that is it for now.

This is just the beginning my Brothers...

This Was The Year...

I have had this silly dream of making an entire world of models that represent what I see in my head and what I like that has been crated by other more talented artist. A lot of people like us want to have a little miniatures/game company I think. I have discovered that it is one thing to dream and want, and an entirely different reality when you attempt to actually make the dream happen.

This is the year that has seen me through the process of sculpting a handful of tiny 15MM miniatures, and having them Molded and Master Cast. I have also Cleaned my own Masters and sent some of them to be Molded and Cast for Production. Ultimately I have in my hands, as of this week, the white metal versions of my work, which is what other people will see and buy from me.

This entire process has been a fun challenge, and at times absolutely surreal.

I am looking forward to continuing the process endifinately.

I would love to post some pictures...lol. but my wonderful WiFi is so bad this week it is just a waste of my damn time to wait to post the nice big pictures you Brothers expect from me. I am in my girlfriends apt using her machine just to make this post. That is cool, becuase next week it will be ZOOM Time! My brothers...

Organizing The Factions

I love it. I do indeed. I am slowly getting the big picture done on my sculpting desk, and now that I am nearing the completion of Master Mold 2, I will have more metal to convert into new models. The effect of this on my BUILDING A COMPLETE WORLD Project, is that I really need to lock-down what I want to have in the main factions.

I am of course going to have The Base Elements: Heroes, Troops, Heavy Support, Special Units &Vehicles. These selections will be Racially Specific and Appropriate for each Factions Status.

The ultimate design for each Faction is the hard part of all of this, but it is also the most fun.
I can sculpt what ever I want to, but I need to do some more work on bringing all of these elements into a more refined state of being.

The more work you do: The More WORK There Is To Be Done!

Is It OCTOBER...Yet, YET?

So it is starting to cool down a little, instead of being in the 90's it is in the 80's now, and getting cool at night.
Go away Summer...GO AWAY!

I am still sleeping much of the day, and working at night...the good time. Now that it is cooling, I am working more.

I have The Second Master Mold planned out for the most part, and I am absolutely going to have everything done for it by the end of the month. I will post pictures soon. I did rearrange things, becuase I have a few leftovers from Master Mold One, primarily The First SEC Mech and MFD sculpts. Since I now also have The A.S.P. done, and want to complete the little Tow Bot I am going to get all of these TECH models into the next Master Mold.

I have decided to also push forward with The First Countryfolk Female, as she will be useful for converting other females later.

I am going to hold off on The Whurg, becuase he is big, and I have a lot to do yet for this Multi-piece Model. I am also going to wait until Master Mold Three for The Baron Murghaste and TECH Fighter, becuase of the similar complexity issues.

As of this writing it looks like Master Mold Two will cover: All Mechs, Rattak w/Rikatik & Huratt Accessory Sprue One, Human Skeleton One, Garrexx One, MURG War Crew One, and whatever else I can get in it. I have not laid all of these models out yet, as I did for Master One, so I will have to make final choices at the end of the month.

This month I am strictly focusing on getting most of the nearly completed models DONE.

THE PLAN

This month I am going to finish the sculptures for Master Mold II and have them in Mike's hands first thing September. While I wait for him to make The Master Mold, I will clean up all of the First Series Masters. When I get the Second Series Masters back, I will clean them and send both sets back to go into Production, in October.

While I wait for The Production Castings, I will finalize The BME Site.

There it is, now I just have to DO It.

Keeping It REAL

One disease many Hobbyist suffer from is staying Motivated. It is fun to hop around from project to project, never really getting anything done. Since I have started to work on my Factions, I have to be disciplined with my time. I have to say; it IS a pain in the ass to stay on task, keeping it REAL is...Hard Work.

I have been able to keep on task, more or less...by collecting art which inspires me, but a better, more recent remedy has been to buy many Audio Books. Listening to these cool stories as I sculpt and draw has made my work time more enjoyable.

If you are interested in collecting Audio Books, I recommend Audible. You can get some very good deal if you become a Monthly Subscriber. I got Stephen King's IT, which is a 40 hour long book, for $7, at my 3 month intro cost. The regular monthly membership is only $14. You may enjoy their library, there are thousands of titles, all of which are offered at a nice discount for Gold Members.

So here I am, listening to Sci-Fi and Horror stories, and sculpting my little Robots and Monsters...lol.

Fun, fun, fun!

THE MANAMAL POLL

LET'S TRY THIS ONE AGAIN.

I posted a similar poll back in the Black Autumn Days and it went nowhere. I have changed everything in my little world since then...this time the deal IS real.

The purpose of this Poll is to determine what Manamal Types will be made first and also which will get the Gang or Race treatment. I am going to sculpt one of everything in this poll, as a cool Monster/Character. Any of these Mutant Animal Humanoids will make a damn fun NPC or Special PC in RPG and a MERC or Monster Encounter in Skirmish Games.

If the poll and subsequent sales elevate certain Manamals, then I will do a Gang or Complete Race of the popular species. To give you some idea of how these sculptures may look, I am sharing some of the art that I have in my Reference Folders. I am not making my models just like this, but you can get the Flavor from these images.

A Word On Design. I have other Manamal Species in mind, this is the first batch, to get the product range started in earnest.

Other Manamal Species currently on my work desk.

THE FIRST MASTER MOLD

I have been told by my people at Iron Wind Metals that I need to lay out a 9 inch circle with a 1 1/2 inch hole in the middle to see how much I can put into a Master Mold.

So...Here is what I have done and almost done to go into my first Master Mold.

After Mike reviews my little layout, and confirms my setup, I am going to focus on completing the last few models, and send everything to be Master Molded and Cast. I had planned to send these first sculptures out for my Birthday, but now that I have looked at everything on a measured out circle, I see that I do not have a nice full molds worth yet...but I am almost there.

I think I can get all of these in, for the first set. I will be done by the end of the month and ready to get this first series of TOMORROW BLACK & QWIK Models in the mothafuckinmail.

ED gives us QWIK!

For my Brothers here, who may not keep an eye on my other joint project: THE WEEKLY ONE FIVE.
Ed of 2 Hour Wargames is working with Rod and I to produce an APOCALYPTIC GLADIATORIAL GAME  Ed has Dubbed QWIK!

Here is a peek at the cover art for this forthcoming 15MM Miniatures Tabletop Apocalyptic Gladiatorial Skirmish Game.

This is the first Human Qwik Team, sculpted by my boy HOT ROD as I call him, becuase he gets his sculptures done before I am finished with mine...lol.

Rod and I are proofreading The Qwik rules now.

More to come Brothers...

My Frst Project for THE WEEKLY ONE FIVE

Ray and I are going to sculpt a "Juggers Team" from The Blood Of Heroes.
I was going to do something like this later in the coming year, but since Ray wants to do it now, why not, it is cool.
For more info on The Weekly One Five which begins in just eleven days, you can read the TMP post.

I am going to do nine miniatures for this project. The five Juggers and four supporting figures.
The first support figure is going to be a Game Referee which will likely look very much like the Fat Bad Guy from The Book Of Eli.

In keeping with TW15's guidelines I am going to start working on this figure on January 1 2011. I will complete The Support Figures with a Manager, Ring Girl, and Gear Tech.

I am going to start a Blog for The Weekly One Five on the first.
