NON-COMBATANTS: BARREL MAN WIP Preview 1

This is the second figure for my Non Combatants and the start of my New QWIK Arena Figures.

I like this guy, he is going to look good seating on his barrel watching DEAD QWIK Matches and guarding the inventory at Market Tables.

MASTER CASTINGS: SERIES 1 ARRIVED!

The first set of Master Casting arrived from Iron Wind Metals today. I had to smile when I counted them. Mike sent me 13 of everything...lol.
If you know me, then you will understand the significance of this. I did not ask Mike to send me 13 of each...

I will post some pictures soon...

The QWIK Rule Book...Kinda Neat!

I just received my copy from Ed. These are fun rules gang. You can do a lot with this game, in the box, and out of the box. I love rules that allow for Unique Characters, and this has it. If you can think it up, you can pretty much do it in game.

If you are into doing Gladitorial Slirmish, and want some rules for a bit of Mad Max coolness, you just might want to pick up a copy of QWIK.

How about that QWIK?

Ed has published the rules, and Rod has his first miniature sets out.
Cool!
Okay what is next?
A Lot.

I am going to have The QWIK Arena Staff out in about 6 weeks. After that I will get my Mutant Juggers and first Human Team done. I am also working on some Characters, Monsters and Mini Mechs, to make the game more interesting.

Based on my thoughts about it, and some good conversations with Ed and Rod, we are going to get a nice range of Apocalyptic Gladiators out on the market this year. This is all just getting started...

QWIK HUMAN TEAMS 1&2 Production Castings...I Got Mine Free!

See what happens when you are friends with a Sculptor and a Rules Author?
You get free Toys & Books!

Rod sent me 2 complete sets of his QWIK Human Teams this weekend, and Ed is sending me my copy of The QWIK Rules this week.
Haa, Haa!

Seriously, I am happy to see this project go from talk...to WALK. It happened faster than some expected.

I am looking forward to adding my continuing work, with some new Mutants and Characters to this fine range of unique models.

Thanks again Rod and Ed.

MONSTERS: GRIZZOUGHT Completed Sculpture Preview

"Travel far, and make good The Hunt my son... but always know the Fast-way home, for you are not alone in The Wild."

Grizzought are Lion-like Kodiak Bear sized beast which Hunt The Wild, and other remote places of The NAC Dominion. These dreaded hunters are stealthy, fast, and very powerful. The hide of an adult Grizz is virtually impervious to commonly used Ballistic Weapons, making them a great threat to even well equipped travellers.

A Word On Design. The Grizzought's tail has been sculpted seperate, for ease of casting.
I think this Ferocious Beast will make a fine addition to my QWIK Gladiatorial Range. We want to have some Beast in The Arena to fight...don't we?

CHARACTERS: JAKA THE MAN KILLER WIP Preview 1

Jaka is a well known Rouge Scout who will guide any who are able to pay him well. In his youth he was a Gladiator, but in time won his freedom, at the cost of hundreds of other Gladiators lives. He is a truly wicked Hyena Manimal, that enjoys torturing his opponents in Martial Combat. Jaka often associates with Kainards, and occasionalley Whurgs, on nightly ventures for mutual gain.

A Word On Design. Jaka is The First Model for what may become a Hyena Manimal Raiders Set.
Note: From RtoL are Rodrick's Werewolf sculpture sold by Mike at Rebel Minis, and Jaka, and finally my little Kainard Body Blank WIP.

Jaka is another member of my Mutant Juggers Team for QWIK .

THE FIRST MASTER MOLD

I have been told by my people at Iron Wind Metals that I need to lay out a 9 inch circle with a 1 1/2 inch hole in the middle to see how much I can put into a Master Mold.

So...Here is what I have done and almost done to go into my first Master Mold.

After Mike reviews my little layout, and confirms my setup, I am going to focus on completing the last few models, and send everything to be Master Molded and Cast. I had planned to send these first sculptures out for my Birthday, but now that I have looked at everything on a measured out circle, I see that I do not have a nice full molds worth yet...but I am almost there.

I think I can get all of these in, for the first set. I will be done by the end of the month and ready to get this first series of TOMORROW BLACK & QWIK Models in the mothafuckinmail.

CHARACTERS: GERROD THE PSYCHE Completed Sculpture Preview

From The Iron Mind to The Inner Body Electric, Gerrod has learned the true way of The Fire Of Unknown Origin. Among Psyche he is revered for his Heavy Clarity. For the power that comes to one who is devoted to these principles is mighty indeed, thus he and his disciples are greatly feared by The Manic Widows and The Unenlightened.

Gerrod travels the entire of New America bringing protection, knowledge and guidance to the wayward tribes, so that New Free Zones might flourish, and in time bring order to the land.

The creation of this Character was inspired by The Music of BLUE OYSTER CULT.

A Word On Design. This figure is also intended for use as a Promoter in The QWIK Game.

CHARACTERS: SHELLY- GEAR TECH Completed Sculpture Preview

Gear Techs are people who have a seemingly instinctive base knowledge of Mid-Tech Machines. If they apply themselves to it, with almost no training, they are able to build, maintain, and repair commonly used security and farming equipment, as well as vehicles. These individuals are extremely valued in communities who do not care to trade with The TECH Nation.

Shelly is a Native of Port York. When her father deemed her of age she traveled with him and her older brothers on his Tech Tramper visiting the Coasters Settlements to trade his advanced skills as a renowned Gear Tech. As she grew up she learned the skill. In times of rest at home her three brothers inspired her to play Qwik with their childhood friends on the island. In time her skill was above average and she took to traveling abroad, selling her services as she explored the Wet Waste.

Eventually she came to base herself in The Territory of Ashington. She now works with Byron and other Qwik Reffs organizing  tournaments in which she offers her custom Qwik Gear and occasionally she will even fill in for wounded Qwiks and Drives, for a Bonus Fee.

Shelly still travels to Port York to visit her family, and she occasionally ventures into The Borderlands, acting as a requested Advisor to Communities setting up or reaping Mid-Tech Systems.

A Word On Design. This was a fun project. I sort of let the models design themselves...I just worked the putty.
I was going for a Nomadic look with Shelly's clothing, and a Medium TECH level for her gear. The gear was a little challenge because I had to think; "Okay this world has very advanced technology, so what does medium technology look like then?"

I am not disappointed with this project, but I might add a cute little Tow-Bot to Shellie's gear, to pull the cart. Originally I figured she just pulls her cart around to keep herself in shape...lol ...I do like the idea of a little "Beep-Boop-Bleep" type of little sidekick fellow...dunno yet.

CHARACTERS: BYRON THE TREMENDOUSE Completed Sculpture Preview

Great are the few who travel The Waste alone...and return, more than once. Such is a man known in most of the Guarded Settlements as: Byron The Tremendous! The weak and the helpless love him. The strong and the insolent respect him. The wicked and the merciless fear him!

In his youth Byron roamed The Eastern Waste for a decade or more, so it is believed. Some say he has even faced The Baron Murghast, and in that great fight cut clean the beast's right arm at the elbow! This was years ago now, but in the time since no Guarded Settlement in our Domain has again been haunted by The Barons Mighty Hordes.

Byron has settled in his middle age to live again in his Home Territory of Ashington. He used to be a renowned Slash in The Game of Qwik, and now holds tournaments which he and his son referee.
Byron still travels out to The Borderlands from time to time, acting as a protector to worthy travelers, and to personally aide Settlements when Raiders become to great a threat to the peace of our Domain.

A Word On Design. It probably has not been overlooked, but I'll mention it just the same, Byron is a multi part model.

This was a very fun project.

GARREXX WIP Preview 1

The Terror of The Sea is made far greater than the mere pollution and deadly current, fore there are things below the waves not dreamt of in nightmares. The Garrexx are perhaps the worst of these things, which are best left alone by Man.

I will post a Racial Overview for The Garrexx when I preview the completed model.

The first time I imagined this thing was when I read H.P. Lovecraft's DAGON. Now years later I am sculpting it...it works like that sometimes.

A Word On Design. I am sculpting seperate arms and weapons for this model. As many of you know from visiting my Blog, I am going to convert the Master Casting of several of my sculptures to make multiple poses for the models that will be produced in Grouped Packs, so it will be for The Mighty Garrexx Race.

I am sculpting this model for The Dark Science Races of Tomorrow Black, but it is also going to serve as a member of my Mutant Juggers Team for The Qwik Skirmish game.

I will post more updates on this project soon.

ED gives us QWIK!

For my Brothers here, who may not keep an eye on my other joint project: THE WEEKLY ONE FIVE.
Ed of 2 Hour Wargames is working with Rod and I to produce an APOCALYPTIC GLADIATORIAL GAME  Ed has Dubbed QWIK!

Here is a peek at the cover art for this forthcoming 15MM Miniatures Tabletop Apocalyptic Gladiatorial Skirmish Game.

This is the first Human Qwik Team, sculpted by my boy HOT ROD as I call him, becuase he gets his sculptures done before I am finished with mine...lol.

Rod and I are proofreading The Qwik rules now.

More to come Brothers...
