Video Games As Miniatures Games...Can It Be Done?

This has been on my mind for years.

I have started play testing some of the situations in populare games now, and thinking of ways to make my rules jive with these trailers.
I do not play video games much now, but the many trailers on line are a good reference for my work...I think I can pull off something here that will feel like both.

  1. I like to play FPS by the guys who make FUBAR. It is a fun and simple FPS for a couple of friends to play and is infinitely adaptable IMO. I've run zombie and J.C. The Thing scenarios using it.

  2. Oh, wow. I'd more or less forgotten about RAGE since it'd first been mentioned. That's certainly some gold to be had with this game.

While the turret was quite interesting, I was really fond of the spider droid shown in other trailers for this game. The way it steadily advanced on the enemy while actively using cover was amazing and really left it looking very predatory and a sturdy piece of solid AI to boot. Speaking of boots, I really appreciated the little touches, like when one of the mooks kicked the player's turret over to knock its clock.

  3. Yeah, VIDEO GAMES ARE CRAZY NOW.

I have been wanting to incorporate the same fun into Miniature Games for a long time.
